Struggling to Adapt

This week I was researching a lot about how children really feel about their diagnosis of type 1 diabetes. i also learned about how their mental health with their diagnosis affects their actual health. I also learned a lot abou how not having routines set in place, lead to the child not maintaining their blood sugars. This leads to higher A1C levels. According to the Children's National Medical Center, about 36% of children that just got diagnosed don't meet the healthy requirements of A1C numbers set by the American Diabetes Association.
Something challenging this week, was brainstorming for my final product on how I want to help these children in their knowledge about diabetes. I want them to learn how to take care of their blood sugars, carb counting, and being able to know the consequences of not taking care of themselves. This is why I am thinking of making a youtube channel to present these problems that they face, and actually teach them how to adjust to their new lifestyle. I also want to make it cartoon themed so that kids can actually be engaged with learning about themselves. A goal for next week, would be making some ideas on what I want the videos to be about.
