Today I finished gathering my first 5 sources, and I created an annotated bibliography. I have learned a lot about source mining and how it is beneficial for research. It has really helped me find the sources that gave me the information that I needed. Some challenges that I faced was finding new information in each of my sources, because each source kept repeating the same information. To overcome this obstacle, I had to use key words and background knowledge on terms to find new sources. For example, all my sources kept talking about high blood sugars. This led me to search up what ketoacidosis is, how it occurs, and how it can be treated. This was one way I was successful this week. However, some questions I did have during my research were how hypoglycemia affected the brain and which one was worse, hyperglycemia or hypoglycemia. For next week, I will be focusing on finishing and revising my resume as well as finding five additional sources for my research on diabetic neuropathy. I will also be working on my interview questions this week and continue to refine them throughout the week. Professionally I can work on how to structure my resume and also how I should present and ask my interview questions.
