Going Deeper

This week is the first week of the 2nd 9 weeks and I will be starting to further my knowledge into my topic. I think I want to start focusing on ketoacidosis and its effects on the brain. This means that I will really need to focus on my research and interviews to expand my knowledge of ketoacidosis and how the neurons respond. I will also start looking into the consequences of how that will affect the rest of the body like the limbs and the pancreas. I think that furthering this knowledge would allow me to understand and teach other people with diabetes about the consequences of hyperglycemia. 

However, in order to be able to teach other people about this topic and its consequences, I would need to improve my speaking skills, not only with patients but with professionals as well. In order to accomplish this goal, I would need to do a lot more speeches and share my work verbally with other ISM students. Other challenges that I would need to face are expanding my network, so I will also start working on my cold calling skills and being able to communicate with other professionals in the field.
